Ken, I remember meeting your mother when you and I were students at MSSC in 1966-68.
I distinctly recall her as a positive and loving mother.
I pray God brings you comfort at this time of grieving in your life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. A smile comes over us, when we think of Shorty and all the amazing things she did. A life well lived, and she shared so much with others! She will be missed, but we know she is living it up right now!

I was lucky to grow up with many caring neighbors in Lamar. The best, kindest, and most caring neighbor was Gladys "Shorty" Godfrey.

She raised two great sons as a single mom and always found time for helping her neighbors. She was a great friend to my wife Teresa and I. She was kind to everyone and I will truly miss her.

Sorry for your loss. I enjoyed talking to Shorty over the phone several months back. We talked about golf and how she still putted the ball around her home. Always had a great positive attitude!

I know Shorty couldn’t smile ALL the time, but I never saw her without that infectious smile! Such a positive person, friendly, always interested in what we had going on, and so much more.
Lamar has lost a great lady but her Heavenly reward is so richly deserved.

So sorry for your loss. I will tell Mother (Edith). She and Shorty were good friends, and often car-pooled with Betty Willhite to Tai Chi. Mother says that Shorty was good to her when she moved to Lamar.
