Norman Wayne Parker, age 89, of Golden City, Missouri passed away November 13, 2021, at   Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation in Lockwood, Missouri.
Norman was born July 10, 1932 in Jasper County, Missouri to Earl Calvin Parker and Ihlah Ruth (John) Parker. Norman graduated from Golden City High School in the class of 1951. On May 16, 1955, Norman married Eula "Marlene" Hostetter in Miami, Oklahoma.
Norman worked as a farmer which included crops, cattle and hogs. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War from 1952 - 1954. He was a salesman for Vigertone Seed, he was a member of the First Christian Church in Golden City, MO, Lockwood VFW, American Legion, Golden City School Board, Fire Board, Good Shepherd Board, PCA Board, Federal Land Bank, MFA Board and a board member of Dade County Soil & Water District. He enjoyed snow skiing and always had a good time hunting pheasants in Kansas with family. He loved attending the sporting events at Golden City schools and received the community athletic supporter award in 2016-17. His family was dear to him and he enjoyed attending the many athletic events and activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Marlene, two daughters; Brenda Kay (Alan) Stalker of Golden City, MO and Lori Beth (Jody) Gibson of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, two grandchildren; Courtney (Ryan) Davis and Haileigh (Landon) Heath all of Ozark, Missouri, four great-grandchildren; Aidan, Tucker and Sawyer Davis and Hudson Heath and babygirl Heath due in January, five brothers; Stanley (Henrietta) Parker of Golden City, John "J.C." (Margie) Parker of Republic, MO, Jim (Lois) Parker of Lockwood, MO, Jerre (Maureen) Parker and Bob (Anh) Bitney all of Houston, Texas, one sister; Janice Kasper of Harrisonville, MO and three sister-in-laws; Betty Parker, Bonnie Parker and Ann Parker as well as a large extended family.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mom, Irene Parker, three brothers; Alden Parker, Melvin Parker and Rex Parker, three sisters; Loretta Gardner, Reba Oberman and Lynda Cearnal and four brother-in-laws; Guy Gardner, Ron Oberman, Bob Cearnal and Ralph Kasper.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the First Christian Church in Golden City, Missouri  with burial to follow in IOOF Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Missouri
Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Lockwood VFW, IOOF Cemetery or the "Good Endings Room" at Good Shepherd Community Care in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

John, Isaiah and myself are so sorry for your loss. Norman was a great man. I always enjoyed talking with him at all the birthday parties for the boys. He will definitely be missed. Hugs and prayers for all the family in the days, weeks and months to come.

So sorry to hear of Norman's passing. Remember all the fun times in Colorado skiing. There was never a dull moment with him around.
