William "Bill" Joseph Dotterer passed away Wednesday, March 23rd 2022 at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, Kansas at the age of 78. He was born on December 20, 1943 to Joseph and LaVina (Hodel) Dotterer in Bluffton, Indiana.
Bill was raised in Bluffton, Indiana until his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 14. He was baptized in 1960 and married Sharon Stettner on July 14, 1968. Bill taught for many years with a brief intermission when he was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. They moved to Missouri in 1999 and then to Kansas in 2017. He enjoyed his family, visiting with brethren, and spending time outdoors in the desert. He treasured his faith in God and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Faith.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon of Pittsburg, Kansas; two sons, Robert (Laura) Dotterer of Sardis, Ohio and David (Carol) Dotterer of Jasper, Missouri; three daughters, Nancy (Matthew) Rocke of Goodfield, Illinois, Beth (Jonathan) Banwart and Rebecca Dotterer, both of Lamar, Missouri; one brother, John (Jeanne) Dotterer of Eureka, Illinois; one sister, Marilyn Graf of Peoria, Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Mark (Julie) Hoerr of Metamora, Illinois and Phillip (Maureen) Stettner of Bluffton, Indiana; and 22 grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carolyn Hoerr and one brother-in-law, Virgil Graf.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Faith church in Pittsburg, Kansas, with burial to be held at 1:45 p.m., at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 at Daniel Funeral Home and again from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 before the service at the Church.
