Alberta Greer

Alberta Irene Greer, age 97, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away early Monday morning at Brookhaven Health and Rehabilitation Center.      Alberta was born December 30, 1918 at Garden City, Missouri to James Auterbein and Alva Irene (Hough) Goodrum.  After graduating high school, she married Archie Leonard Greer on January, 11, 1941.  She was a retired assembly line worker at O’Sullivan Industries and she was a Christian.      Alberta is survived by one granddaughter, Babette Greer-Farrar of Springfield, Missouri; a great-granddaughter, Halle Greer-Farrar; a sister-in-law, Velma Goodrum, of Lamar; three nieces; one nephew; and several great nieces, great nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Archie; her parents; a son, Larry Greer, February, 1994; and two brothers, Daniel Goodrum and James Elwood Goodrum.      The family will receive friends 10:00 until 11:00 am, Friday, May 20, 2016 at Daniel Funeral Home.  She will be buried in a private family ceremony at Memory Gardens Cemetery.       Contributions can be made to the donor’s choice. .
