Alicia Nicolas

Alicia Anne Nicolas, age 76, of Liberal, MO, died Thursday December 23, 2010, at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, KS.       Alicia was born November 11, 1934, in Lexington, NE to Cecil J.  and Rosalie (Faulkner) Clark.  She was a high school graduate.  In February 1960, she married Hugh Arthur Nicolas at Parsons, KS, and together they raised four children.  Hugh preceded her in death in 1986.       Alicia worked most of her life in the medical field and was a nursing home administrator at Medicalodge South in Pittsburg, KS.  She loved collecting Santa Clauses and antiques, decorating her home and watching movies.       Alicia leaves behind three sons: Chris and Dot Nicolas of Joplin, Philip Nicolas of Frontenac, and John Nicolas of Liberal; one daughter, Anne Nicolas and her husband Lanny Ackiss of Webb City; three grandchildren, Lexie and Lainie Nicolas, and Claire Ackiss; and one sister, Marian Siple of Rockwall, TX       A graveside memorial service for Alicia will be 11:00 am Wednesday, December 29, 2010,at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Greenbush, KS. with Rev. Gerald Powley officiating.       Contributions are suggested to Liberal United Methodist Church in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
