Allen Dean Gordon

Allen Dean Gordon, age 55, formerly of Lamar, Missouri died at his home in Carthage, Missouri early Monday, October 12, 2015 after a battle with cancer.    Allen was born May 5, 1960 at Chanute, Kansas to David Paul Gordon and Frances Esther (Perry) Gordon.  He was a 1979 graduate of Lamar High School and graduated 1998 from School of Conservation in North Cross, Georgia.  On April 16, 2005, he married Glenda Gale McLeod at Bolivar, Missouri.  Allen had worked 27 years in the automotive business including Abernathy’s, Ihms’s and Gilkey’s.  He had worked as a general contractor since 2000.  Previously, he was a kindergarten thru 6th grade coach for soccer and baseball at the YMCA in Joplin, Missouri.       Survivors include his wife Glenda Gordon; two sons, Nick Gordon, Marysville, KS and Eric (Michelle) Gordon, Edmond, OK; one step son Steven (Amy) Sheets, Jonesboro, AR; five brothers, Will Gordon, Edmond, OK, David (Daylene) Gordon, Lamar, MO, Scott (Christy) Gordon, Lamar, MO, Shawn (Michelle) Gordon, Lamar, MO, and Ralph (Kelley) Gordon, Richardson, TX; one sister, Isa West, Lamar, MO; 14 grandchildren; , and many nieces and nephews.       Preceding him in death inclulde his father, David Gordon and an uncle, Walter Dale Perry     The funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Lamar, MO with burial at 2:00 pm in Elmwood Cemetery, Chanute, KS.    Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.    Contributions are suggested to Allen Gordon Family in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
