Ann Sprenkle-Martinez

Ann Sprenkle Martinez, age 43, of Springfield, died December 29, 2012 in Springfield.  She was born August 30, 1969 in Lamar to Charles and Merle (Haile) Sprenkle.  She was a  1987 graduate of Jasper High School and graduated in 1992 from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in Communications Management;  she worked in mortgage lending and insurance in Springfield.  While in High School she was active in school activities and UMYF and was a member of Jasper United Methodist Church.  She  married Alvaro Cruz Martinez at the Jasper United Methodist Church on August 16, 2002 and together they had one son, Carlos, who lives with his grandmother.  In addition to her son, she is survived by her brother, Harold Sprenkle and wife, Brenda, of Jasper;  mother, Merle Sprenkle, of Springfield,  a nephew and  3 nieces plus many cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents,  Walter and Mary Haile and Charles and Hazel Sprenkle, and father, Charles Sprenkle. Services will be held 2:00 pm January 5, 2013 at Daniel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time on Saturday, at the funeral home. The body will be cremated and will be interred in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in a private ceremony beside the grave of her father.   Memorials may be made to Jasper United Methodist Church in care of Daniel Funeral Home
