Arlene Buck

Arlene Buck, age 65, of Lamar, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at Barton County Memorial Hospital following a short illness.       Arlene was born April 24, 1946, one of the three children of Amos and Margery (Pritchett) Miller.  A life-long Barton County resident, Arlene graduated from Lamar High School in 1964.  In addition to being a homemaker and caregiver, Arlene had owned and operated a thrift store and participated in the Lamar Farmer's Market for many years.  She was a member of several square dance clubs and was member of the Lamar Church of Christ.      On August 7, 1965, at Lamar, Arlene married the love of her life, Keith Buck, and they had celebrated 39 years together before his death November 28, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Jim Erwin.       Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Travis & Teresa Buck and grandchildren, Jed and Clara Buck, all of Lamar; and a brother, Vern & his wife Karen Miller, Flower Mound, Texas.      Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28th at Daniel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.      Memorial contributions are suggested to Fair Haven Children’s Home in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
