Betty Lee Swanberg, age 78, of rural Lamar, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home.
Betty was born April 9, 1937, in Kansas, Illinois, one of three daughters of Chauncey and Ruby (Tomes) Suddeth. She was preded in death by her parents and a sister, Norma Hofbauer.
After moving to Barton County, Missouri, Betty worked in the packing department of O’Sullivan Industries for 20 years. Betty was a “people person” and an animal lover. She enjoyed the fellowship of friends in her square dance club as well as the company of her dogs and cats in her quiet country home. She was a loving companion and caretaker for Johnny Kearney for the past twelve years.
Survivors include a son, Dale (Anna) Swanberg, New Haven, Missouri; two daughters, Cindy (Darrell) Elvik, Clark, South Dakota and Evelyn (Steve) Willoughby, Bowling Green, Kentucky; a sister, Doris Gibbs, De Kalb, Illinois; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Aaron) Pearson, Mary Brown, Wyndi Donnell, and Bobby Joe (Ashley) Simpson; six great-grandchildren, Dallas, Garrett, and Jasmine Swender, Michael and Rebekah Donnell, and Abigail Pearson; two nieces and one nephew.
Honoring Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering will take place at a later date.
