Billie Ray Parnell

Billie Ray Parnell, age 67, of Lamar, died Friday, January 17, 2014 at Truman Healthcare Center. Billie Ray was born February 15, 1946 at Lamar to Billie Raymond Parnell and Norma Irene (Sullivan) Parnell.  He graduated Lockwood High School in 1964 and on March 25, 1966, he married Marilyn Lee Taylor at Lamar.  Together they raised two children. Billie Ray had worked as a Machine Setter and Trainer for O’Sullivan Industries and was also a cattle farmer.  He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with family. He was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Billie Ray leaves behind his wife of nearly 48 years; one son, Brian (Amy) Parnell of Parkersburg, WV; one daughter, Shannon (Roy) Lane of Lamar, MO; three sisters, Donna (David) Jones of Lamar, MO, Verna (Martin) Jones of Lockwood, MO, and Karen White of Lamar, MO; three grandsons, Austin Parnell, Cade Parnell and Isaac Parnell.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Joann Willit. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Daniel Funeral Home with Darrell Doss officiating. Burial will follow at Pippenger Cemetery, Sheldon, MO.  The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Monday at Daniel Funeral Home.  Contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
