Billy W. Anderson

Billy W. Anderson, age 73, of Lamar, died Sunday, August 1, 2010, at his home after a long illness.  He was born February 10, 1937 in rural Barton County, to William D. and Ruby (Frogge) Anderson.   On February 10, 1967 he married Opal L. Drane at Jasper, MO and together they had two daughters.   Billy was retired from the Army National Guard after 40 years of service.  He also worked for O’Sullivan Industries for 30 years in the Packing Department.  Prior to working for O’Sullivan Industries, he was a truck driver and had worked at the old Ford Garage in Lamar.  Billy’s family was the most important part of his life.   Billy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Opal; two daughters, Tammy & David Goodwin, of Pittsburg, KS, Sue & Vince Enyeart, of Lamar; two granddaughters, Amanda & Felix Cruze of Mindenmines, MO, Kimberly Enyeart of Lamar, MO and a grandson Cheyenne Goodwin, of Pittsburg, KS; three great-grandchildren, Adriane, Yvette, and Hector Cruze, of Mindenmines, MO; and several nieces, nephews and friends.   Billy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Anderson.   Memorial Services for Billy will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 301 Grand Ave., Lamar, MO   Contributions are suggested to the Anderson Family in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
