Bobby
L. Crockett, age 79, of Lamar, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Freeman
Hospital West after a short illness.
Bobby
was born February 7, 1931 in Barton
County to Barney and
Hazel (Golden) Crockett. He served his
country as a soldier in the United States Army. On August 11, 1956, he married
Velma Marie Loewe at Fair Play, MO.
Together they have four children. He was a member of Hopewell Cumberland
Presbyterian Church, an Elder at Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a 27
year member of the Barton County Rural Electric Authority, a member of the VFW,
a member of the Doylesport Township Road Board, a Sunday School Teacher, a MFA
Board Member and was a cattle & grain farmer.
Bobby
is survived by his wife of 53 years; two sons, Darrel and Judy Crockett, of Lamar, and Don and Wendy Crockett, Houston, MO; two
daughters, Marilyn and Andy Holloway of
Vidor, TX, and Marla and Dave Shepherd, of Broken Arrow, OK; eleven
grandchildren; Blake & his wife Lori Crockett, Brad Crockett, Michael and his
wife Hope Holloway, Casey Holloway , Shabri Holloway, Kira Holloway, Kylan
Holloway, Jacina Crockett, Aubrey Crockett, Joel Shepherd, and Brooke Shepherd;
one sister, Carol and her husband Jerry Patterson, Golden City.
Bobby
was preceded in death by one grandson, Barry Crockett, and one sister, Leta
Borghardt.
Funeral
Services for Bobby will be 10:00 am Tuesday April 20, 2010 at Daniel Funeral
Home with burial to follow in St.
James Cemetery
where Military Funeral Honors will be conducted. Visitation will be 6 to 7 pm
Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home.
