Brent Alan Rush, age 39, of rural Lamar,
passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Mercy St. John’s
Hospital in Cassville.
Brent was born August 17, 1970 at Carthage, Missouri,
to Charles “Butch” and Vickie (Gastel) Rush.
He graduated from Lamar High School in 1988, earned an associate’s degree
from NEO, and attended Oklahoma
State University. In addition to being a cattleman and farmer,
Brent had worked for Murphy Farms for the past nine years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed
hunting, fishing, golf, and following Oklahoma State Cowboys football. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, Lamar Metro Club, and Lamar Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his daughter, Whitney
Rush, Pittsburg, Kansas; his father, Charles “Butch” Rush, Lamar; a brother and
sister-in-law, Randy & Heidi Rush, Waterloo, Iowa; a sister and
brother-in-law, Kenda & Rod Haun, Lamar; nephew and niece, Cooper &
Elly Haun; a large extended family; and a host of friends. Brent was preceded in death by his mother,
Vickie, in 1999.
A graveside funeral service will be held
at 10:00 a.m.Wednesday, April 28th at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00
until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home.
