Carol A. Madden

Carol Ann Madden, age 71, of Sheldon, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.      Carol was born October 22, 1940 at Libertyville, Iowa, one of the five children of Earuest and Dorothy (Nelson) Spray.  She grew up in Fairfield, Iowa, where, in 1958, she graduated from high school before moving to Bakersfield, California.  She had lived in Sheldon for the past 20 years and many will remember her as a cashier at Lamar Walmart.  Carol was an avid bowler and enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens.      Survivors include two sisters, Edith Davisson of Sheldon and Evelyn & husband Jack Hesseltine of Richland, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Ileen Spray Coffin of Richland, Iowa; and several nephews and nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.      A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5th at Carol's home, 104 North 8th Street in Sheldon.  Her ashes will be taken to Fairfield, Iowa for burial at a later date.
