Carol (Fox) Wilkinson

Carol Sue (Fox) Wilkinson, age 67, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at her home. Carol was born, June 18, 1946 at Lamar, MO to Hervey A. Fox and Lois Jane (Scholl) Fox.  She graduated Lamar High School in 1964.  Carol had worked as a teacher’s aide at Stet, MO, and was a member of Eastern Star.  She enjoyed playing the organ and piano at her church, was a Sunday school teacher, worked in VBS, and was an avid reader.  Carol was a member of Orchard Crest Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. On February 26, 2011 she married Arland Wilkinson at Springfield, MO. Survivors include her husband Arland Wilkinson, Springfield, MO; two sons, Mark & Sharron Ayers, Greenville, IL and Rodney & Terisa Ayers, Lamar, MO; two step-sons, Jeff & Kelley Wilkinson, Austin, TX, and Mike & Cecily Wilkinson, Olathe, KS; one step-daughter, Joyce & Eric Jegen, Lee Summit, MO; three sisters, Nancy Bowman, Lamar, MO Lois & Jerry Nelson, Lamar, MO, and Betty & Robert Topliff, Springfield, MO; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded by a husband, Wayne Dooley, her parents, and a brother, Hervey Ray Fox in 2011. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lake Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm 1:45 at which time Eastern Star services will be conducted Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home.  Contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
