Carol Schmitt

Carol Faye Schmitt, age 77, of Lamar died Saturday, July 7, 2012. Carol was born February 3, 1935 in St. Louis, MO and attended school at Bourbon, MO.  On September 1, 1951 she married Ralph Lawrence Schmitt at Japan, MO and together they had nine children.  She was a homemaker and had worked at Chastain’s Nursing Home as an LPN and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Carol is survived by two sons; Lawrence D. and Hui Cha Schmitt of Joplin, MO, and Bill and Brenda Schmitt of Golden City, MO; six daughters, Carol & Jim Dill of Lamar, Mary Ballard of Lamar, Pat and Kerry Blanchard, of Lamar, Norma & Richard Newsome of Lamar, Lucy Braun of Phoenix, AZ and Nancy Hatfield of Lamar; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Preceeding her in death are her husband Ralph in 1995; a daughter Donna Sue Schmitt in 1963; and a great-grandson Blaine Scott Schmitt in 2007. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Thursday July 12, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brad Dill, Michael Dill, Junior Ballard, Josh Blanchard, Kenny Blanchard, Nick Klamm; honorary pallbearers will be Matt Klamm and Dakota Dill. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Wednesday July 11, 2012 at Daniel Funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to American Diabetes Association in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
