Carollyn Stevens

Carollyn Louise Stevens, born December 30, 1954 in Oregon City, Oregon, went to be with our Lord on October 10, 2010 in Burgess, Missouri after a long battle with cancer.  She died in her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones.  She is survived by her husband David Stevens, and daughter Chrissy Stevens of the home; daughter Jennifer Stevens, and grandson DJ Stevens both of Pittsburg; three step-daughters, JoeAnna and her son James of Oregon, Annette and her children, Stacey and Rickey of Ceres, California, and Alice with her two sons Scott and Tom of Waterford, California, two great-grandchildren of Ceres, California, and sister Idalou and brother Tony of Molalla, Oregon.  She also leaves many nephews and nieces whom she seemed to have adopted over the years and became a mother to them as well.  Carollyn was preceded in death by her mother, Luella Williams, father, Richard Williams, and an infant sister, Ruth Marie.        Carollyn worked as a C.N.A. in her younger years in Canby, Oregon until her children came along, then she became a full time mother, and then a full time grandmother.  Carollyn had a big heart and was always there to help when she was needed, she was a natural caregiver.        Carollyn was always a joker, and always had a way of making you laugh even when the world looked so dim.  She told her daughters and husband, when she passed she wanted one of us to stand up and say . . .”Carollyn made it her whole life and never got a speeding ticket!”  Her jokes and her smile and her loving nature will be missed.        A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14th at Shiloh Cemetery with Pastor Glen Polnack officiating.  The family will receive friend from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.        Memorial contributions are suggested to Angel Among Us in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
