Claude Wolfe, age 93, of Milford, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at his home.
Claude was born December 12, 1918, at Jerico Springs, Missouri, one of the six children of Ralph and Nettie Mae (McClendon) Wolfe. He entered the U.S. Army in 1941, serving in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns during World War II. Returning home, Claude met and married the love of his life, Nellie "Nen" Jones and they had celebrated 60 years together before her death October 20, 2006. Claude was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Frank Wolfe; and a sister, Wanda Easter.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck & Liz Wolfe, Milford; two daughters and a son-in-law, Claudia & David Searcy, Shawnee, Kansas, and Pam Galichia, Merriam, Kansas; six grandsons, Garrett & Curt Searcy, Todd & Shawn Galichia, Chuck Jr. & Chad Wolfe; ten great-grandchildren, Morgan, Austin, Cole, Caden, Corinn, and Connor Searcy, Dustin Galichia, Kayleigh, Hunter, and Brayden Wolfe; two sisters, Izetta Moore, Newton Iowa and Hazel Easter, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a large extended family; and a host of friends.
After living and working in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri, Claude retired from Massey Ferguson and he and Nen moved from Kansas City to Milford in 1980. A committed Christian, Claude was an active member of Milford Christian Church where he served as an elder for many years. He was also a member of Gideons International. His love of God, his family, his neighbors and friends, and his country were evident to all who knew him.
A celebration of Claude’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5th at Milford Christian Church with Darrell Doss and Cliff Hazard officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Lamar VFW Post 3691 and Missouri Honors Team.
