Cleo Rose Lawrence

Cleo Rose Lawrence, age 67, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away on February 18, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Born on October 29, 1957, in Denver, Colorado, Cleo was the daughter of William Frank Sheets and Altie Leona Loretta (Stanton) Sheets.

Cleo worked in the produce department at Wal-Mart, where she was known for her hard work and friendly smile. She also worked at O'Sullivan's until they closed. A woman of deep faith, she was a member of James River Church in Joplin. She had a love for reading, nurturing plants, and collecting Elvis memorabilia. Her generous spirit led her to volunteer at the Good Samaritan Shop, where she found joy in helping others.

She is survived by her step-son, Robert (Brandy) Lawrence of Lamar, Missouri; her daughters, Nettie (Bradley) Dobbs of Jasper, Missouri, Tamara (Carinoso) Toves of Lamar, and Crystal (Buck) Harrison of Sheldon, Missouri; step-daughters, Jennifer Fernandez and Carli Lawrence, both of Hawaii; 10 grandchildren: Leilani, Raeauna, Carinoso Jr., Jocelynn, Casen, Brylee, Chevy, Avery, Noah, and Holden; eight step-grandchildren, Benjamin, Kali, Kelsie, Ashley, Robert III, Wendy, Hayden and Mah'Nika; three sisters, Mary Tyrrell, Linda Sheets, and Karen Laushman; and her sister-in-law, Maryanne Hovey.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Raymond Harrison; her second husband, Robert Gene Lawrence Sr.; one sister; and three brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Daniel Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery (Oakton).

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Daniel Funeral Home.
