Daniel A. Kuhn, age 65, of rural Lamar, passed
away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at his home.
Dan was born April 29, 1944, in Independence, Kansas,
to Lloyd and Katherine (Dowell) Kuhn.
After graduating from Lamar
High School in 1962, he
earned an associates degree from Joplin Jr. College. In addition to farming the family farm, Dan
and his brothers, in 1974, created and operated the widely-known Kuhn Bros.
Orchard for more than 30 years. He was
also an electrician and had worked for Webb Electric for many years. Dan was an accomplished guitarist and Harley
Motorcycle enthusiast. His best
memories, however, were created through time spent with his family. He was a member of Lamar United
Methodist Church.
On July 22, 2000, at the Kuhn family farm,
Dan married Mary Patrick, and she survives, of the home. Also surviving are his children and their
spouses, Michelle & Frank Naaykens, Joplin, Christian & Paul Alberty,
Terrell, Texas, Jacob & Annetta Kuhn, Lamar, Amy Kuhn & partner Jimmy
Bryant, Lamar, Adam Morris, Carthage, Rebecca & Anthony Hernandez and
Jennifer Jennings, all of Marshall, Missouri; a brother, Larry & wife Mary
Kuhn, Lamar; a sister-in-law, Betty Kuhn, Lamar; many much-loved grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; a large extended family; and a host of friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents,
Lloyd & Katherine Kuhn; a stillborn brother and his brother, Roger Kuhn;
daughter, Eva Jones; and grandbaby, Davinia Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00
p.m. Monday, April 26th at Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Don Keithly
officiating.
