Delbert “Deb” Neil Mayfield, age 81,
passed away, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 after a short illness.
Deb was born June 18, 1936 in rural Barton
County to Harvey Floyd and Iva Lavesta (Greer) Mayfield. On December 22, 1956,
he married Nadine Loewe in Lamar. He was
an elder and member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a crop farmer,
and a friend to many.
Deb leaves behind his wife of 60 years; a
daughter, Brenda and husband Steve Ensor, Paris, Missouri; two grandchildren, Cyndi
and husband Hank Hargis, Centralia, Missouri and Dan Ensor, Paris, Missouri;
three great-grandchildren, Morgan Rush, Dayton Rush and Jackson Hargis; one
brother, Lyn and wife Marilyn Mayfield, Roy, Utah; one sister, Janet and
husband Larry Sechrest, Lamar; brothers in law, Bob Keithly and Gene Loewe,
Lamar; sisters in law, Velma Crockett, Wilma Braker, and Betty Gilmartin, all
of Lamar; and numerous nieces and
nephews, by whom he will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a
daughter, Karen Laraine Mayfield; and a sister, Jean Keithly.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday,
August 27, 2017 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sheldon
Cemetery.
