Delilah Ione Weaver, age 85, of Liberal,
passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009,
at Freeman Hospital West following a long illness.
Delilah was born January 21, 1924, in Nevada,
Missouri, to Jesse and Mary
(Slagle) Friend. A life-long area
resident, Delilah worked for more than 20 years at the Nevada
Habilitation Center
as a secretary, then housekeeping supervisor, retiring August 1, 1989. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter
who enjoyed a variety of hand crafts.
Delilah was a member of Liberal Christian Church.
On April
14, 1943, at Girard, Kansas,
Delilah married Ward Weaver and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents
and a brother, Paul McClarrinon.
Survivors include two sons and
daughters-in-law, David & Edyth Weaver and Ed & Linda Weaver, all of
Liberal; a daughter Judy Weaver, Liberal; a sister and brother-in-law, Pauline
& Max Davidson, Liberal; five grandchildren, Jody Henegar, Tom Weaver,
Barry Weaver, Brian Weaver, and Pamela Thompson; and nine great-grandchildren,
Daniel Henegar, Jr., Jordan Henegar, Keagen Henegar, Michaela Henegar, Cortney
Weaver, Seth Weaver, Isaac Weaver, Samuel Weaver, and Taylor Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28th
at Liberal Christian Church with burial in Worsley
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00
p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.
