Edward Arthur “Edd” Browning, age 63, of rural Lamar, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at his home.        Edd was born August 4, 1946, at Benton, Illinois, to Dillard & Coy (Wiggins) Browning.  After graduating from Benton High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan during the Vietnam War.  While an accident while in the military left Ed disabled, his determination, perseverance, and love of life enabled him to achieve many goals.   A consummate learner, Edd earned a bachelor’s degree in business as well as a degree in theology.  He was the insurance agency manager of Brown & Associates in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas for many years and also preached for a short time.  He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying activities that could be shared with his family.  He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and Lamar I.O.O.F.        On September 3, 1968, Edd married Joyce Anne Black and together they had two sons, Edward II and John.  They divorced in 1983 and Edd moved from Wichita Falls, Texas to Lamar, where he met and married Donna L. Gerths July 18, 1986.  They made their home in Barton County where they were raising their two children, Ricky and Alicia.         Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Donna, and their children, Ricky Alan Browning and Alicia Nicole Browning, all of the home; sons and their wives, Edward II and Mandy Browning of Licking, Missouri, and John & Ticylee Browning of Joplin; a sister, Miriam Dice, Lamar; seven grandchildren; and a large extended family.        The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home.        Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28th, at Daniel Funeral Home where full military honors will be conducted at the close of the service.  Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery northeast of Sheldon.        Memorial contributions are suggested to the Edd Browning family, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.        Condolences may be sent on-line @ www.danielfuneralhome.net
