Edward "Moose" Andrew Osburn Sr., age 67, of Lamar died at his home Friday April 13, 2012 after a long illness.
"Moose" was born August 15, 1944 at San Francisco, CA to Edward Euell and Leota Elsie (Howard) Osburn. After high school, he served his country in the United States Army. On October 31, 1972 he married Helen I. Burton at Miami, OK and together they raised two children, Robyn and Andy. He attended First Christian Church of Lamar and was a co-owner of Poppy & Grammer's in Lamar. "Moose" spent most of his career as an owner-operator truck driver.
"Moose" is survived by his wife Helen, of the home; one daughter Robyn and Scott Gardner, of Lamar; one brother David and Sharon Osburn, of Lamar; five grandchildren, Anthony Osburn, Brittany Osburn, Caitlyn Gardner, Alex Gardner, and Nick Gardner; a brother-in-law Fred Szabados of Bloomington, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded him in death are his parents; one son Edward "Andy" Osburn Jr. on November 19, 2006; and one sister Olivia Gailene Szabados.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Monday April 16, 2012 at Daniel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday April 17, 2012 at First Christian Church of Lamar, with Mike Gage officiating. Burial will be at Pennsboro Cemetery, South Greenfield, MO.
