Floyd C. Lee, age 76, of Lamar, Missouri
passed Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Floyd was born December 8, 1940 in rural
Barton County to Floyd Allen and Helen Irene (Shaw) Lee.
Floyd graduated Lamar Highschool in 1959
and then served his county in the United States Navy. On October 2, 1962, he
married Barbara Hemphill at Grace Lutheran Church, and together they raised
five children. He owned his own
business, Lee & Sons Constructions, for over 40 years. He had also worked
as a butcher for Bud Dale’s Packing Plant for several years. He was a member of Joplin Eagles Club and
enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Barbara; two
sons, Wesley Lee and partner Karen Carroll, and Floyd Lee Jr. and wife
Zackarae; two daughters, Danita Vangilder and partner, Harold Rogers, and
Lucinda Loveall, all of Lamar, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Dominique Lee,
Tabitha Baker, Heather Anderson, Michael Lee, Dylan Vangilder, Slater Vangilder,
Carlee Vangilder, Danielle Purinton, Kelly Ross, Abigail Lee, Tate Lee, Ginny
Lee; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents,
one brother, John Thomas Lee, a daughter Vickie Sanders, and a granddaughter,
Brittany Baker.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am Friday,
August 18, 2017 at Morehead Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to
7:00 pm Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home.
