Frances L. Southern

Frances L. Southern, age 68, of Milford, MO died at her home, Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Frances was born June 24, 1945 at Highland Park, MI to Russell S. Kelley and Alice B. (Camp) Kelley.  She graduated Lamar High School and later obtained a bachelor’s degree from MSSU.  She worked as a Probation & Parole Office before retirement.  Frances was involved in 4H Helping Hands, volunteered at the Moss House in Nevada, MO, was involved in Angels Wings Domestic Violence Prevention and Victims Rights Marches, and was an avid reader, gardener, and facebooker. Frances leaves behind one brother, William “Bill” & Turid Kelley, CA; two sisters, Ina Mae & Charlie Brooks, Lamar, MO and Dorothy Joan & Bob McMackin, Metaline, WA; and one granddaughter who she raised, Ashlyn Sisk. Preceding her in death were her parents; two daughters Dana Southern Sisk and Barbara Lynn Brown; and a close special friend, Albert Lou Lau. Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. James Cemetery, Milford, MO. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Daniel Funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to Moss House in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
