Francis Edward Richter

Francis E. Richter, age 88, of Lamar, died May 29, 2010.  He was born December 5, 1921 in Lamar, to Max Joseph and Alice Marguerite (Connolly) Richter.  After High School, he served in the United States Coast Guard.  On August 23, 1947, he married Mary Louis Kunkler and together, they had three daughters   Francis was the oldest living member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lamar.  He was a Master Plumber and owned and operated Richter Repair Service, and had previously worked at the Lawnboy Factory in Lamar.   Francis is survived by three daughters; Fran Richter, Lamar, Marsha Pitts and Everett, Lamar, and Susan Duncan, Lamar; five grandchildren, Kevin Duncan, Lamar, Lori Batchelder, Blue Springs, MO, Corey Pitts  & Julie, Lamar, Elizabeth Reed  & Nathan R, Carthage, MO and Michael  Bartholomew & Kelli, New York, NY; seven great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Russell Kunkler, Joplin, Richard Kunkler, San Francisco, CA; and one sister-in-law Jean Maier, Iola, KS.   Francis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Lou, and one brother Leo Richter.   Funeral Mass for Francis will be 10:00 am Wednesday June 2, 2010 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lamar.   Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Daniel Funeral Home Chapel.   Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Mary’s Church Building Fund or St. Mary’s Cemetery.
