Gerald Dee
Gruver, age 66 of Lamar, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at St. John’s Regional
Medical Center
in Joplin.
Gerald was born August 27, 1943, at the
family home in Nashville, Missouri, to Albert and Veda (Eberting)
Gruver. On June 21, 1963, at Liberty, Missouri, he
married Susan Kay Fleet and they have made their home in Barton County
for the past 46 years. In addition to
being a cattleman and farmer, Gerald owned and operated Gruver’s Auction in Milford for more than 30
years. He was an active member of Full
Gospel Tabernacle, and a former member of Barton County Chamber of Commerce and
Jerico Springs Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Susan, of the
home; two daughters and their husbands, Stephanie & Dan Rothrock, Lee’s
Summit, and Julie & Ronald Vincent, Nevada; his step-mother, Pollyanna
Gruver, Racine; his mother-in-law, Val Schwindaman, Lockwood, two brothers and
their wives, Loyd & Roza Mary Gruver, Jerico Springs, and Darrell &
Denise Gruver, Seneca; two sisters, Linda Jacoby, Pleasant Valley, and Sharon
Perry, Holt, Missouri; four granddaughters, Heather, Tara, Brooklynn, and
Kaitlynn; and a great-granddaughter, Katherine Olivia. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents
and a sister, Carol Gruver.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 8th at Full Gospel Tabernacle with burial in Howell Cemetery
near Milford.
The family will receive friends from 6:00
until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Daniel Funeral Home.
