Grace Deloris Reichard, 80, a long time
resident of Metz, Missouri,
passed peacefully away Sunday, October
4, 2009 at Girard Medical Center
in Girard, Kansas.
Grace was born September 24, 1929, at
Irene, South Dakota, to George and Judith (Lyngstab) Lokken. She moved with her family to Wisconsin where she graduated from Madison High School. She then enlisted in the U.S. Air Corp,
serving from 1949 through 1953, stationed in Korea. On August 1, 1953, at Madison,
Wisconsin, she married Clarence Reichard and
they made their home in Manitowoc,
Wisconsin. Grace later moved to southwest
Missouri to
be near family. She was a homemaker and
a member of Trinity Lutheran Church
in Nevada, Missouri.
She was an avid sports fan and loyal follower of the Green Bay Packers
and Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include a son and
daughter-in-law, Gary & Penny Reichard, Arma, Kansas; a daughter and
son-in-law, Tami & David Shores, Metz, Missouri; her 30-year best friend,
Betty Giddings, Lawrence, Kansas; five grandchildren, Dawn Harney, Catoosa,
Oklahoma, Tonya Choate, Arma, Kansas, Daisy Wyland, Mulberry, Kansas, Lisa
Shores and Erik Shores, both of Metz; two adopted grandchildren, James Baker,
Nevada, Missouri, and Angela Baker, Pittsburg, Kansas; 18 great-grandchildren;
and a large extended family. She was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; a son, Gregory George
Reichard; an adopted daughter, Sandra Baker; a brother; and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00
a.m. Thursday, October 8th at Daniel Funeral Home where the family
will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Memory Gardens
Cemetery.
