Jack B. Brous, age 87, of Lamar, passed
away Monday, December 7, 2009 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.
Jack was born April 7, 1922 in rural Barton County,
to Denham Raymond and Hazel Beatrice (Orahood) Brous. He graduated from Lamar High School
in 1940. On October 27, 1944, he married
Pauline Frances Capp, at Girard,
Kansas and together they had
seven children. Jack was a crop and cattle farmer and also was a contract mail
transporter for 37 years. He was a member
of Living Hope Church of the Nazarene for over 65 years.
Jack is survived by his wife Pauline, of
the home, four sons, Jim Brous and his wife, Robyn, of Springfield, Missouri,
Calvin Brous and his wife, Bonnie, of Liberal, Missouri, Dan Brous and his wife
Paula, of Lamar, Missouri, and Ken Brous and his wife Robin, of Lamar,
Missouri; three daughters, Karen Hardy and her husband Greg Hardy, of Liberal,
Missouri, Barbara Moore and her husband Greg of Jackson, Tennessee, and Staci
Scarberry and her husband Rick of Lamar, Missouri; one brother, Gary Brous and
his wife Shirley of Santa Barbara, California; one sister, Edoline Smith, of
Nevada, Missouri; 23 grandchildren,; 33 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents;
one brother; one sister; and a granddaughter, Lori Lynn King, April 16, 1967.
Funeral Services for Jack will be held at
2:00 pm Friday, December 11, 2009 at Daniel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 Thursday at
Daniel Funeral Home.
