James Elton Garver was born to Rols and Eva Mae Pruitt Presnell Garver, February 9, 1921 in Harlem, Kansas. He departed to his Heavenly Home on July 26, 2011 at the age of 90 years, five months.
He was left at an early age of 11 when his mother passed away. His father raised him to manhood.
James or “Jim” as he was called by friends, served in WWII serving in England, France, and Germany.
He married June Rosenbaum Turner, January 23, 1971 in Warsaw, MO. They raised on son, Gean Andrew “Andy” Garver.
Jim worked for List & Clark Construction Company for 43 years, retiring in 1989. He was saved and baptized in the Baptist Church in Mindenmines, MO. He later moved his membership to Meadowside Baptist Church in Pittsburg, KS.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Rols and Eva Garver, his grandparents, William Levi and Sarah Riley Garver, Randolf and grandma Pruitt, step-son Gene Turner; four brothers, Lyle, Wendall, Clair and Denton Presnell; one sister Lola Presnell; two sister-in-laws Peggy and Gladys.
With the passing, he leaves his wife June, son Andy Garver and wife Amy, of Pittsburg, KS; one step-daughter Patsy Faulkner and husband Paul of Bolivar, MO; two sister-in-laws, Faye Thornton and husband Herman of Stockton, MO and Arleta Shea and husband Sam, of Cedar Falls IA; three granddaughters, Shelli McVey & husband Kevin, of Bolivar, MO, Mitzi Poole of Kansas City, MO, Wendee Gene Garver & Ben of Pittsburg, KS; a host of nieces, nephews, great grandsons, one great granddaughter, cousins & friends. He loved them all.
He has gone to his heavenly home where he will have no more suffering and pain. He will be missed by all.
A private graveside service will be held at Stockton, MO.
