James Warren Hickman, age 73, of rural Jerico Springs, died Friday, November 5, 2010 at his home after a long illness.
James was born July 31, 1937 at Greenfield, MO to Lynton Harold and Roberta Jean (Pyle) Hickman. He was a High School Graduate and served in the United States Army as an MP. On April 9, 1977, he married Pansy L. Higgins at Cedarville, MO and together they raised three children.
James worked for Thorco Industries for 37 years as a spot welder. He was a member of Mt. Olive Christian Church of Greenfield and most recently attended Main Street Baptist Church of Greenfield. He also loved raising cattle and working on his farm.
James is survived by his wife Pansy, of the home; one son, Joseph “Joe” Warren Hickman and his wife Stephanie, Tinker AFB Oklahoma; two daughters, Jeanne M. Hickman, of Jerico Springs and Amy Lynn Hickman of the home; one brother, Harold & Beverly Hickman of Morrisville, MO; four sisters, Beverly & Benny Ellis, of Springfield, MO, Vickie Decker, of Greenfield, MO, Linda & David DeHoff of Grandbury, TX, and Sue & Dennis VonStrohe, of Ash Grove, MO; four grandchildren, Ashley Watts Singletary, Robbie Singletary, Shane Hickman, and Brent Hickman.
Visitation will be 3 to 4 pm Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Daniel Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for James will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 8, 2010 at Main Street Baptist Church, Greenfield, MO with burial following at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
