James Henry Keatts, 86, Golden City, Mo. passed away April 20, 2011 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Lockwood, Mo. He was born August 25, 1924 near Halltown, Mo. to Leo and Velma Keatts.
James is survived by his wife Willie Dale sharing 64 years of marriage. To this union five children were born: Alan (Rhonda), Linda Ward (Ron), both of Springfield, Wayne (Jean) Golden City, Max (Vickie) Greenfield, Leroy (Joyce), Lamar. Also, special son Wilbur Rauch, Nixa.
Thirteen grandchildren, Tina Stump, Lisa Kinnunen, Jeff Etem, Jill Doke, Jana Cooper, Ashley Newman, Jessica Schwarzkopf, Mike, Scott, Jeremy, Matt, Jenni, & Lacey Keatts and 21 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving, brother Raymond (Jeannette) of Marionville, sisters Luella Niccum, Cassville, Patricia Ann Falk, Omaha, Ne., Edna Mae Spillman, Mt. Vernon, Pauline Tyree, Manistee, Mich., Dorothy Adriano, Garfield, Ark.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert, and a great-granddaughter, Kelly Jo Stump.
James was a farmer and a long time employee of Isenhower Lumber Co. in Lamar. He was a WWII Veteran, and a member of the Republic Masonic Lodge 570 for over 60 years. James had been a long time member of the Lamar Alert Club, received the Governor's Adult Leadership Award for Missouri Community Betterment, and a past mayor of Golden City.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 25th at Golden City Methodist Church with military honors at Rock Prairie Cemetery, Halltown, Missouri.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
