James Ryan

James Ray "Sarge" Ryan, age 75, of Lamar, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK.  James was born July 14, 1936 at Jefferson City, MO to Ray and Ellen (Cable) Ryan.  He served his country in the United States Army, retiring in 1975 after 20 years of service. He was also a truck driver and a member of the Lamar Eagles Lodge.   On January 24, 1997 at Lamar, he married Shelley Ann Strong, and she survives of the home. Also surviving are; two step-sons, Erik Musgrove of Lamar, and Scott Musgrove of Nevada; one step-daughter, Misty and her husband Andy Marti of Lamar; three brothers, Richard and Betty Ryan of Lamar, Irving and Joyce Ryan of Kansas City, MO, and Bill & Helen Ryan of West Virginia; one sister, Kathy and Mike Wolfe of Joplin, MO; four step-grandchildren Zackery Musgrove, Cooper J. Marti, Drew Marti and Hannity Marti.  James was preceded in death by his parents.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Thursday November 3rd at Daniel Funeral Home.  A graveside service with full military honors will be held at  2:00 pm Friday November 4th at Lake Cemetery.
