Janet Curless

Services will be livestreamed via Lamar United Methodist Church Facebook Page or YouTube Page.   Janet Marie Curless, age 90, of Lamar, Missouri passed away January 2, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.   Janet was born November 1, 1931 in Lamar to Thomas Albert Streeper and Reba Alberta (Griffin) Streeper. Janet graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1949. On October 15, 1950, Janet married Charles Emmett "Bub" Curless in Lamar, MO.   Janet worked alongside her husband in various businesses throughout their married life, especially Hillcrest Lanes, which they built and opened on their 10th wedding anniversary, October 15, 1960. She was a member of the Lamar United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, Methodist Women, JOY, Elks and several bridge clubs.   Survivors include her son Charles and wife Nancy Curless and daughter Jerri and husband Craig Finley, all of Lamar, six grandchildren; Amy and husband Mike Marrone, Julie and husband Bo Bennett, Ann and husband Jason Killmon, Ryan and wife Carri Finley, Melissa Finley and Matthew Finley, seven great-grandchildren; Emma Bennett, Avery Bennett, Tate Bennett, Jack Killmon, Laila Killmon, Kyler Finley and Jaden Finley.    Preceding Janet in death were her husband, her parents, one brother, Thomas Wallace Streeper and one baby sister, Carolyn Sue Streeper.   Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Lamar United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Lake Cemetery in Lamar, MO.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Barton County Community Foundation or Hearts and Hands for Humanity or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of Daniel Funeral Home.   Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
