Jess Masterson

Jesse Albert Masterson, age 73, of Lamar, Missouri passed away January 31, 2022, at his home.Jess was born June 10, 1948 in Lamar, Missouri, to Ray Allen Masterson and Fern Lucille Hannah. Jesse graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1966. On October 25, 1980, Jesse married Sharon Kay Kentner in Lamar, MO. Jess worked as a driver for MFA in Golden City, Missouri, CFI / Glasstran in Joplin, Missouri, Higgins Pallets in Lamar, MO, owned and operated Masterson Seed and Grain and loved to race dirt cars, he was a member of the Lamar United Methodist Church, the Barton County Shrine Club and Lamar Masonic Lodge.Survivors include his wife, Sharon, four sons; Rocky Higgins of Lamar, Tye Bell of Ft. Worth, Texas, Zach (Jill) Masterson of Lockwood and Rowdy Masterson of Lamar, one daughter; Piper Masterson, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother; Terry (Angie) Masterson of Lamar and one sister; Donna Ray of Harrisonville, Missouri, brother-in-law, Richard (Princess) Kentner and his best friends; Terry Moore and Randy Plunkett.Jess was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Melinda Richy and one sister, Delores Dawe and brother-in-laws; Don Dawe and Rick Pierson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Lamar United Methodist Church.Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in care of Daniel Funeral Home.Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
