John M. Stettler

John Michael Stettler, age 66, of Lamar, Missouri died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at his daughter’s home. John was born March 20, 1952 to John Marvin and Helen Elizabeth (Niehaus) Stettler. He attended Prairie Rose Grade School and graduated Lamar High School in 1970 and then attended SMS in Springfield. Having a “Zest for Life”, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, exploring for arrowheads and collecting rocks from locations he visited, pulling tractors, MOPAR cars, NHRA, and was a master diesel mechanic who could fix anything and make it better than it was before. He was proud to have earned the FFA American Farmer Degree. John was a trucker, welder and a row crop farmer. John leaves behind a son, John Adam (Trisha) Stettler, Lamar, Missouri; four daughters, Stephanie (Matt) Spain, Lockwood, Missouri, Harmony Stettler, Kansas City, Missouri, Tara (Matthew) Anderson, Austin, Texas and Kandra Stettler, San Antonio, Texas; one brother, James (Sherry) Stettler, Lamar, Missouri; two sisters, Lendi (Jerry) Davis, Iantha, Missouri, and Naomi (Ken) Shaw, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Ahmir, Payton, Daphne, Johnny, Julia, Ashlyn, Megan, Olivia, Jace, and Ember. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2018 at Daniel Funeral Home.
