Joseph "JD" David Shumake

 Rev. Joseph David "JD" Shumake, age 79, of Lamar, Missouri passed away June 3, 2024, at his home.
 
JD was born June 5, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Robert Parrish Shumake and Alice Lillian (Hockerston) Shumake. On November 16, 1963, JD married Sherill Jean Hayes in Corpus Christi, Texas.
 
JD was a retired Assembly of God Pastor.

Survivors include his wife, Sherill; two sons, David Shumake, of Lamar, MO., and Bryan Shumake of Jerico Springs, MO; one daughter, Sherill Chopski of Aurora, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Charlotte Peterson of Georgia.

JD was preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters and three brothers.
 
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lockwood, Missouri.
