Joyce LeAnn Braudaway, age 54, of Carl
Junction, Missouri, passed away Monday night, March 13, 2017, at Mercy Hospital
in Joplin.
Joyce was born April 26, 1962, in Lamar,
to Marion and Leila (Clark) Giger. She
grew up in Barton County where she was active in 4-H, band and basketball, graduated from Lamar
High School in 1980 and worked at Lamar Greenhouse. A life-long learner, Joyce was enrolled in
Missouri Southern where she worked as a student account manager, earning a
bachelor’s degree in 1997. She had also
worked in student services at Franklin Tech and as a para-legal at a law firm. She was a member of First Baptist Church
while living in Lamar and currently attended Christ’s Church of Oronogo.
On April 30, 1994, Joyce married Dean
Braudaway who survives, of the home.
Also surviving are her parents, Marion & Leila Giger, Lamar; four
sons, Austin Phipps, Portland, Oregon, Casey (Jo) Phipps, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Brent
(Amy) Phipps, Washington D.C., and Justin Braudaway, Carl Junction; a
granddaughter, Trinity Phipps, Carl Junction; a brother, Richard Giger, Lamar,
and a sister-in-law, Chris Hembree, Tampa, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 18th at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar where the
family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be in Sheldon Cemetery.

Missouri Southern Scholarship Fund or Irwin Community Church, in care of the
funeral home.
