Lavona Marie Chapman, age 39, of Liberal,
passed away Monday, February 9, 2009
at Mt.Carmel Regional
Medical Center
after a sudden illness.
Lavona was born September 12, 1969 at Fort
Scott, Kansas to Darrel and
Carolyn (Spurling) Thompson. She was a lifelong Liberal resident. Lavona worked as a Telemarketer for Epixtar
in Pittsburg, Kansas
for more than 2 years.
Lavona was preceded in death by her
paternal grandfather, Eddie Thompson; paternal grandmother Dorothy Petty;
maternal grandparents Wilbur & Ethel Spurling; one brother Eddie Thompson
and two uncles Randy McMechan and Bobby McMechan.
Survivors include a son Jacob A. Chapman,
and a daughter Kaysha M. Chapman, both of the home; her parents Darrel &
Carolyn Thompson of Liberal, a sister Laminda Thompson of Fort Scott one niece
Kaitlyn Thompson and one nephew Brandon Thompson both of Fort Scott, her
grandmother Velma Spurling, of Liberal, uncles Darrell Spurling, Mike Spurling,
Roy Thompson, and Larry Thompson, aunts
Cora Ganger, Linda Thompson, and Sandra Lesley, and several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00
p.m. Sunday, February 15th at Daniel Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Lavona will be 11:00 am Monday, February 16th at
Grace Christian Assembly Irwin, Missouri
