Edward Lee Meadows, age 75, of rural
Liberal, Missouri,
passed away Sunday evening, August 9, 2009 at his home.
Lee was born June 29, 1934, at Grove, Oklahoma, to Truman and
Alice (Vice) Meadows. He graduated from Mindenmines High School
in 1952 and on November 15, 1952, at Eureka
Springs, Arkansas, he
married Neva Ann Pennington. They lived and farmed at various locations in Missouri and Texas
before settling at their current home in Barton County
in 1974. Lee was dedicated to the land
and devoted to his family. He was an
active member of Liberal
United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years,
Neva Meadows, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley & Wayne
Dingman, Liberal; two sons, Gary Meadows, Lamar, and Kevin Meadows, Joplin; a
brother, Jim & his wife Kay Meadows, Oronogo; six grandchildren, Shannon
Dingman, Cherie Witt, Kayla Dingman, Joe Meadows,Wesley Meadows, & Jordan
Meadows; three great-grandchildren, Hadlee and Sadie Meadows, and Cadence
Dingman; a large extended family and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Truman & Alice Meadows, and a great-grandson, Clayton Meadows, March 23,
2007.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 12th, at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will
receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Nashville
Cemetery, Nashville, Missouri.
