Lisa Joann Johnson, age 50, of Liberal,
Missouri, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017, at her home, after a sudden
illness.
Lisa was born March 26, 1967, in Doniphan,
Missouri, to Marion and Whanita (Millwood) Shelton. On February 15, 1995, at Mt. Vernon,
Missouri, she married Darrell Johnson and they later moved to Liberal to be
near family. Darrell suffered a stroke
and passed away January 28, 2017. Lisa
was also preceded in death by her parents; a step-son, Cody Johnson in 2015;
and a brother, Danny Shelton this past July.
A natural caregiver, Lisa earned LPN
certification and had worked in various nursing homes in Carthage, Webb City,
and Neosho. She was proud to have
trained and supervised most of her children as they continue her legacy as
compassionate health care providers. Lisa was an avid reader and a talented
seamstress. She enjoyed quilting and
crocheting afghans for family and friends.
Survivors include three sons,
Mike and Joe of Liberal, and Kelly of Springfield; three daughters, Amber of
Liberal, Brandy of Aurora, and Holly of Lamar; two brothers, Mark Shelton,
Pierce City, and Robert Shelton, Joplin; a sister, Nancy Gautney, Aurora; 24
grandchildren; and a large extended family.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 27th,
at Daniel Funeral Home. Rocky Lemmons
will officiate an informal service to honor Lisa with shared memories beginning
at 7:00 p.m. – please come prepared to tell your favorite “Lisa Memory”.
