Lorene Winningham

Lorene Owens Winningham, 82, of 103 N. Division St., Flora, died Thursday-Dec. 22, 2011 at 10:45pm at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center-Delphi. She had been in failing health since July and a resident there the past month.    She moved to Flora from Lamar, MO in 2006.  She was born May 26, 1929 in Redding, KS, to the late Efton & Gertrude Hagwood Owens.  Her marriage was to Willie F. Winningham in Bentonville, Ark., on December 22, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1990.  She was a Golden City Missouri 1947 high school graduate, and attended college in Springfield.  She was a homemaker and also cooked at her local school for 5 years.  While in Indiana, she attended the First Assembly of God Church in Delphi, and was a member of the Lamar First Assembly of God Church in Missouri.  She was an avid reader, and loved to sew.    Survivors include one daughter, Renita & Gary Overholser of Cutler, IN; one son, Howard L. Winningham  of Mt. Vernon, WA; one brother, Calvin & LaWanda Owens of Springfield, MO;  her twin sister, Florene Glines-Scherer Moline, IL;  two grandchildren,  Eric & Candice Overholser and Julie & Kelvin Ford; six great grandchildren:  Brogan, Colt, & Bailey Overholser and Shon, Quinton, and Gabriel Ford.    Lorene was preceded by an infant son, Steven Wayne; two sisters and two brothers.     Friends may call Monday from 5-7 pm at Baker-Abbott Funeral Home, Flora, IN.   Services will be Wednesday in Lamar, MO, viewing 11 am until her funeral at 1pm, at Daniel Funeral Home. Burial at Bethlehem Cemetery, Barton Co., MO.   Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Autism Society of IN 13295 Illinois St, Suite 110, Carmel, IN 46032, Parkinson’s Society, or the American Heart Association.
