Lucille Lenna Viers, 99, a long-time Barton County
resident, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 in the Hospice
Compassionate Care
Center in Richmond, Kentucky.
Lucille was born May 30, 1910, in
Estancia, New Mexico,
one of the eleven children of Samuel W. and Lenna Leota (Allen) Hodgson. She graduated from Lamont High School
and had attended college. In addition to
being a devoted homemaker and farmwife for many years, Lucille had worked in the
housekeeping department of Barton
County Memorial
Hospital for eight years
and O’Sullivan Industries for ten years.
She attended Lamar Assembly of God Church and Full Gospel Tabernacle and
was a member of the Barton County Home Extension Club. Lucille had moved to Richmond, Kentucky
in 2008 to be near family.
Mrs. Viers was preceded in death by her
parents; two husbands, Earl Williams in 1955 and Harry Viers in 1981; nine
brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include three daughters, Nina
Huser of Richmond, Kentucky, Leota Burkett of Olney, Illinois, and Gloria
Blankenbeckler of Lamar, Missouri; two sons, Earl Leslie Williams of Kansas
City, Missouri and Walter John Williams of Clever, Missouri; ten grandchildren,
Martha Miller, Mike Williams, Vivian Barber, Cheryl Wall, Chuck Burkett, Teresa
Yarbor, Brenda Taylor, Christy Huser, Eddie and Mitch Williams; and 15
great-grandchildren, Adam & Paul Miller, Rachel & Michael Barber, Devan,
Kayle, Kirk, & Ian Wall, Mathew, Laura & Lindsey Burkett, Andy &
Alex Yarbor, and Johnathian & Missy Williams.
The family will receive friends from 1:00
until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27th at Daniel Funeral Home.
A graveside funeral service will be held
at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28th at Lamont
Cemetery in Lamont, Oklahoma.
