Marie Montgomery Fields

Marie Fields, age 81, of Lamar, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Truman Healthcare Center where she had resided for the past six months.      Marie was born August 15, 1930,  at Lamar, Colorado, one of the five children of John and Lucy (Baldwin) Wilson.  On June 17, 1947, at Girard, Kansas, she married Hobert Clifton Montgomery and he preceded her in death January 4, 1977.  On October 21, 1986, Marie married John Fields and he died May 27, 1994.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Samuel Wilson.      Marie worked at O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar from 1965 until 1972.  She then worked in the housekeeping and laundry department of Barton County Memorial Hospital from 1972 through 1986.  Marie had a zest for life and a smile for everyone.  Many will remember her love of music as she played guitar and sang, or the shared experiences of horseback riding, motorcycles or car racing.  Marie attended First Baptist Church of Lamar for 20 years; Assembly of God for nine years; and Full Gospel Tabernacle since 2003.      Survivors include two sons, Max & his wife, Connie Montgomery of Jerico Springs, Missouri, and Roy Lynn Montgomery of Lamar; three sisters, Helen Shouse, Lockwood, Missouri, Sue Wilkinson and Joyce Wilson, both of Greenfield, Missouri; many nephews;  nieces; and a large extended family.      Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday May 18, 2012  at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until service time.   Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.      Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association in care of Daniel Funeral Home
