Mary A. Moore

Mary Alta Moore, age 71, of Iantha died Friday January 13, 2012 at her home.  She was born April 14, 1940 at Bickel Hospital in Barton County, one of the thirteen children of Charlie and Georgia Mae (Guest) Butler.      On July 11, 1959, at Bethany Church of the Nazarene in Yakima, Washington, she married Donald Forrest Moore.  In 1972 they moved back to Barton County where they owned and operated Moore Sewer and Septic and Mary worked as a supervisor at Big Smith Manufacturing for many years.  They were active members of the Pittsburg Church of the Nazarene.         Don preceded Mary in death February 16, 2001.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Edith Isaacs; and a brother, Charles Eugene "Gene" Butler.      Survivors include one daughter, Tresa Moore of the home; three brothers, Fred Butler of Federal Way, WA, Donald Butler of Yakima, WA, and Jerry Butler of Yakima, WA; seven sisters, Emma Akins of Zilla, WA, Nadine Akins of Naches, WA, Charlene Moore of Sacramento, CA, Dortha Liggons of Oakland, CA,Linda Hunt of Roosevelt, UT, Connie Phillips of Yakima, WA, and Peggy Doyle of Selah, WA.      A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17th at Daniel Funeral Home with burial in Iantha Cemetery.      Contributions are suggested to the Moore family to help with medical and funeral expense.
