Mary Juanita Stockdale

Mary Juanita Stockdale, age 92, of rural Jasper, passed away Thursday, May 19. 2011 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood.      Juanita was born March 25, 1919 at the Brasher family home in Cedar County, Missouri to J.M. and Maggie (Hibbert) Brasher.  She graduated from Lamar High School in 1936 and was a life-long area resident.  On September 26, 1943, at Carthage, Juanita married Carl Stockdale and they made their home and farmed in Barton County for many years.      Survivors include Juanita’s husband of 67 years, Carl of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy & Marc Doosti; a granddaughter, Zhana & husband Reagan Sanders; a great-grandson, Jackson Sanders, all of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Joan & Earl Williamson, Independence, Missouri, Gay & Herbert Crisler, Willis, Texas, and Dixie & Ron Robinson, Cedar Creek, Missouri; and a large extended family.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom & Loren “Stan” Brasher; and two sisters, Rita & Eunice Brasher.      A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Lake Cemetery in Lamar with Chaplain Dana Calef and Pastor Walter Howrey officiating.      Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Daniel Funeral Home.        Condolences may be sent at www.danielfuneralhome.net
