Melanie Moore

Melanie Ann Moore, age 61, of Lamar, Missouri passed away August 7, 2021, at Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill in Kansas City, Missouri.   Melanie was born June 30, 1960 in Lockwood, Missouri to Robert Allen Rice and Shirley Lee Ricketts. Melanie graduated from Golden City High School in the class of 1978. On July 20, 1992, Melanie married Michael Allen Moore in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.   Melanie spent the last 20 years raising and breeding dogs at MAM Kennel, from her home in Lamar. She was an avid sports fan of her sons and grandchildren. She could always be found on the sidelines of the football field, t-ball field or soccer field, cheering for her loved ones. Her laugh and smile could brighten any room. Melanie was an excellent pet breeder and was an avid member and spokesperson for T.H.E. Professional Pet Breeders.   Survivors include her husband Michael, two sons; Derek (Lindsay) Forst, of Sedalia, Missouri and Jonathan (Erin) Forst of Lamar, Missouri, her parents, Robert Allen (Judy) Rice Sr. and Shirley Lee Ricketts, five grandchildren; Avery Forst, Alyse Forst, Jaxon Forst, Tyson Forst and Evelyn Forst, three brothers; Allen (Vickie) Rice of Golden City, Missouri, Steve (Tammy) Rice of Garden City, Kansas and Rick (Ruth) Rice of Carthage, Missouri, mother-in-law Rose Ann Moore and father-in-law Terry (Saundra) Moore as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   Melanie was preceded in death by her grandparents.   Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m.,Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the funeral home.   Memorial contributions are suggested and payable to Milford Christian Church or T.H.E.
