Melody Monaco, age 50, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012, at her daughter's home in Missouri following a courageous battle with cancer.
Melody was born July 14, 1961 at Laurel, Mississippi, the youngest of the eleven children of Fred and Stella (Ward) Ainsworth. On April 18, 1990, in Indiana, she married Louis Monaco. In 2005 they moved to Thornton, Colorado. In addition to being a wonderful homemaker and cook, Melody worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper in a doctor's office. Her giving nature and kind heart were felt by the many people she helped as a volunteer in food pantries and homeless shelters. Melody imparted love and life skills to her own children as well as many other lives she touched as a Sunday school teacher and mentor.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 22 years, Louis, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan & Lashelle Kincaid of Denver; three daughters, Tiffany Jaramillo, Jessica Kincaid, Thornton, Colorado and Yvonne Kincaid, Blue Springs, Missouri; five brothers, Earl and Roy Ainsworth of Louisiana, and Larry, Carl and Benjamin Knight of Alabama; five sisters, Erima Knight, Alabama, Debbie Aylaian, New Hampshire, Brenda Ainsworth, Colorado, Sadie Smith, and Linda Chambers, Louisiana; and eight grandchildren, Ryan, Charles, Katelin, Jack, Autumn, Elizabeth, Alexander, and Jonathan. Melody was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ernie and Fred Ainsworth; and a sister, Sandra Kay.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 13th at Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Mill Creek Methodist Church Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi.
