Nadine Delissa

Nadine DeLissa, age 93, of Lamar, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Barton County Memorial Hospital.      Nadine was born October 12, 1918, at Liberal, Missouri, the first of the two daughters of  Len and Gertrude (Staley) DeLissa.  Nadine and her sister, Mabel were devoted caregivers of their father until his death in 1952 and their mother who died in 1984.      A life-long Barton County resident, Nadine graduated from Lamar High School and worked for 42 years as a secretary at Barton County Electric.  She was active in her community as a member of Lamar United Methodist Church, a founding member of  BPW (Business and Professional Women) and Fiber Art Guild.  Nadine and Mabel loved to travel with their favorite destination being Estes Park, Colorado.  In later years, Nadine especially enjoyed the company of and caring for her dog, Molly.      Survivors include Nadine's sister, Mabel DeLissa of Lamar; several cousins, including Pat and his wife Carol Barr, a good friend and neighbor, Kathleen Dimond, and Molly's caregiver, Carla Scott, all of Lamar.      A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 19th at Lake Cemetery with Rev. Barry Winders officiating.      Memorial contributions are suggested to T.A.T.S. or Barton County Senior Center in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
